The Caldwell County Middle School band participated in the District #1 Kentucky Music Educators Association Assessment held at Paducah Tilghman School.
The 7th-grade band with 31 members and the 8th-grade band with 33 entered the Large Ensemble Assessment contests.
Middle School Band Director Mason Henry explained they were judged in several different areas.
click to download audioAccording to Henry both groups received an overall Distinguished rating which is the highest rating that could be awarded.

Henry added that the assessment was a learning experience but it also allowed them to review the next day in class and learn more from the experience.
