Caldwell County Fiscal Court heard updates Tuesday on the new weather sirens, an ambulance inspection, and an upcoming meeting for the Take Kids Fishing Day in May.
Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin informed magistrates they are waiting on final inspection before the new weather sirens will be ready to go.
click to download audioAdditionally, he said they are still waiting on the mitigation grant for the generators which he believes will be another few months.
Fire Chief Brent Francis announced a planning meeting for Take Kids Fishing Day will be held on April 4th at the Welcome Center with the actual event set for May 20th.

And Mark Harrison, director of Caldwell EMS, said they are staying busy but they are still having problems recruiting personnel.

click to download audioAnd Superintendent David Waldrum of the Caldwell County Road Department reported that road crews are taking advantage of the dry weather this week and have been busy filling potholes.
