House Bill 338, advocated by Christian County Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins which would give seniors the option of being excused from jury duty based on their age, is on its way to the governor’s desk.
Once Governor Andy Beshear signs HB 338, Judge Atkins explained prospective jurors aged 70 or older can opt out of serving on a jury.

HB 338 amends KRS 29A.080 to establish that a prospective juror may elect to be relieved of service on a jury for the period summoned if the prospective juror is age 70 or older.
