Caldwell FFA Alumni Hear Updates About Upcoming Activities


The Caldwell County FFA Alumni & Friends held their regular meeting Monday night in the high school agriculture classroom.
Alumni President Heath Cummins shared what the FFA Alumni Chapter does to assist the local chapter.

click to download audioThe alumni heard reports on several upcoming activities from advisor Magen Woods including Monday was the first day of operation for the greenhouse. The chapter officers for the new upcoming year have been interviewed and will be presented for election at the FFA meeting next week. Sign-ups are now being accepted for the position of committee chairman for next year with a record-breaking number of over 20 students applying for the chairman spots.

The FFA Chapter is continuing to hold “Under the Lights” recognition for athletes involved in baseball, track, tennis, and softball in the upcoming weeks.
The FFA Murray Field Day will be held on April 19 at Murray State University and will host students competing from up to 5 different states. Woods explained the local chapter has a strong history in competition at the annual Field Day and shared some of the contests for the day.

click to download audioCaldwell County will host the Regional FFA Awards Banquet on April 27th and will have the local Chapter FFA Awards Banquet on April 28th to recognize the local chapter winners from the year.
Future FFA events include the state convention from June 5th through 8th in Lexington and FFA Camp for Caldwell students from July 3rd through 7th.
The next meeting for the FFA Alumni Chapter will be Monday afternoon, May 22, at 5:00.
