A Caldwell County native and former sheriff has joined the Madisonville Police Department.
Chris Noel was one of two officers sworn in by City Clerk Kim Blue at a ceremony in the Madisonville City Council Chambers on Monday.
A post on social media says Noel and another officer sworn in, Mike Lantrip, will both serve as school resource officers at Madisonville Community College.
Noel has 26 years of law enforcement experience which includes serving on the Eddyville Police Department and Princeton Police Department. He served as chief deputy with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office for 13 years before being appointed as sheriff to fill the remainder of then-Sheriff Stan Hudson, who retired in June of 2022. Noel served as Caldwell County sheriff for about 6 months before he retired at the end of December of that year.
