As the Princeton Optimist Club continues to prepare for its upcoming radio auction, the nonprofit organization also has been busy making donations to support the youth in our community.
In the last month, Optimist Club member Jean Ann Albertson presented checks to Virginia Holly and Savanna Seymour with Happy Feet, and the Princeton Ducks softball team made up of young ladies grades 3 through 6.
In addition, the Princeton Optimist Club was one of the sponsors of the recent Color Run held by the Caldwell County Middle School BETA Club, with a donation presented by Optimist Club member Brenda Calhoun.
The Optimist Club has presented a donation to support the Welding Team from the Caldwell Regional Career Center as they won at the regional level and are now competing in the state competition in Louisville. Club member Shirley Gray presented the check to welding instructor Mickey Bayer and members of the team.
Optimist Club member Zeke Jamison presented a check to sponsor Jennifer Griggs and members of the Caldwell County High School FBLA to help with their expenses attending the state FBLA convention in Louisville this month.
And 4-H Agent Rhonda Jewell was presented a check from Optimist Club member Wesley Curtis to help campers attend 4-H Camp coming up this summer.
The funds to help support the youth in our communities are made possible through donations to the Princeton Optimist Club Radio Auction.
This year’s auction will be held Monday through Friday, June 5-9 at the Christian Life Center at First Baptist Church in downtown Princeton. The club is still in need of item donations to be auctioned. If your organization, business or any individuals want to make a donation or be involved with the radio auction, contact George Kilgore or any Optimist Club member. The auction will also be broadcast live each evening right here on WPKY 103.3 FM/1580 AM, at wpkyonline.com, and on the free WPKY app.
