Man Charged With Murder In Hopkinsville

 

A man has been charged with killing a woman in a shooting on East 18th Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area of the 300 block of East 18th Street for shots fired just after 1 pm Wednesday and found 59-year-old Dolores Hernandez dead inside the home.
After reviewing surveillance video in the area police say a silver Chevy truck was seen driven by Earl Guillemet who was also seen throwing away items by witnesses.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office and her body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Guillemet was later located and after being interviewed by police and the gun being recovered he was arrested and charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Guillemet was found to have been a convicted felon since 1997.
Police gave thanks to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the community of Hopkinsville for their help in the investigation.
