The end-of-the-year awards banquet was held Saturday evening for the Caldwell County High School Band of Pride.
The annual banquet was held in the high school cafeteria and began with a meal provided by the Band Boosters from Ms Piggy’s BBQ.
High School Band Director Daniel Thomas shared that this was a chance to celebrate the hard work of the band members and especially the seniors.
click to download audioThe Band Boosters presented each senior member with a framed picture of themselves. Band member Paige Ketchey took a photograph of each senior and created a hand-painted picture from the photo. The boosters then had it framed and presented to the seniors.
Director Thomas then presented some fun recognition of several band members based on memories over the past year. He then awarded various members for outstanding accomplishments and presented them with a plaque.
Receiving the Outstanding Senior Band Member Award was Whitney Peck. She is thankful for staying in the band for her entire 4 years of high school.

click to download audioBand Booster Doug James received the Outstanding Pit Crew Member Award. He has enjoyed being a part of the pit crew over the years and this was his last year due to his daughter graduating.
