I-24 Near State Line To Get New Asphalt Surface

Interstate 24 in southern Christian County is set to receive a new asphalt surface, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The project will cover a distance of 1.4 miles, from mile point 91.973 to MP 93.373, on both the eastbound and westbound sides, around the Kentucky-Tennessee line.
The work zone will be set up by a contractor, Rogers Group Inc., starting Wednesday.
Ditching work will begin on May 22, with milling and paving starting on May 30. The project is expected to be completed by June 2, weather permitting.
To ensure driver safety, the contractor will use a “queue warning alert system” that will use portable message boards and real-time traffic data to warn drivers of approaching work zones and queued-up traffic.
