Funeral services for 84-year-old James “Jim” Garland Tandy, of Princeton, will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 6, at 1:00, at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
Burial will follow at Millwood Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Visitation will begin Tuesday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home.
He passed away on June 2, 2023, at Lourdes Hospital.
Jim was born October 24, 1938, to the late Garland Wood and Martha Rose Sims Tandy.
He retired from P & L Railroad as a conductor. Jim enjoyed a long retirement collecting and restoring antique tractors, horseback riding, going to lunch with his fellow retired railroad workers, and visits to Lexington, KY, and Hilton Head, SC. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, and he graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1958, where he was a member of the football team.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Call Tandy; daughter, Marty (Melanie Hatton) Tandy; brother, Lawrence (Jane) Tandy; three sisters, Katherine Tandy Davis, Sarah Roseann Tandy, and Margaret (Rodney) Heaton; two nieces, Christina Kay Davis and Brenda Davis; five nephews, Stephen (Rebecca) Tandy, John (Ellen) Tandy, Tucker, Spencer, and Draper Heaton; one great-niece, Holly Tandy; two great-nephews, Connor Goodwin, and Bryant Tandy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bobby Davis.
