George Coon Public Library In The Midst Of Summer Reading Program

The George Coon Public Library kicked off its summer-ready program Thursday with a program for children showcasing local civic and community groups.
Library Director Nichelle Faughn shared the reading program will continue through July including activities for all ages with children’s programming held each Thursday.


click to download audioFaughn said the kickoff program was meant to show children it takes all different kinds of groups to come together to make the community work properly. It also allowed local groups to inform the children and parents what their individual groups do for the community.

click to download audioOptimist Club member Jo Ann Coomer asked the children what they would like to be in a circus and invited their families to be a part of the radio auction this week.
