The Caldwell County Sportsman Club will hold a large 3-D archery shoot and a turkey shoot this weekend, featuring a woodland 3-D archery trail.
It’s running from 9 AM until 5:30 PM both Saturday and Sunday at Jones-Keeney Wildlife Management Area, and will include traditional, hunter and open divisions for youth up to 16 years old.
Adam Cruzen, with the organization, said he’d like to see the Jones-Keeney WMA used more.
Cruzen noted there will be 25 targets including a moving target and a “money target,” which he described as “full-sized elk” that could bring a handsome prize.
The weekend fun costs $15 per entry. Those with member cards are $10. Kids 8 and under shoot free. Boots and tick spray are recommended.
