Champions for a Drug-Free Lyon County Receives $125K in Funding

Schools in Lyon County and Webster County will share in $2.3 million through the Drug-Free Communities program to help fight substance abuse among young people as part of its approach to combating the drug abuse epidemic through prevention, treatment, and interdiction.
U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced the funding to 19 agencies across the state.
Both the Lyon County Board of Education and the Webster County Board of Education will receive $125,000 through the program.
Champions for a Drug-Free Lyon County brings together community-minded parents, school staff, law enforcement, and students to discuss, plan, and implement drug prevention activities in the school system.
