The food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. There are no income guidelines, anyone in need of food is welcome to attend.
Farms to Food Banks is under a statewide program of the same name, which began in 2011. Sizemore says the program aims to help farmers reduce losses while providing healthy produce to Kentuckians in need.

Kentucky’s Heartland is part of the Feeding America network that covers 42 counties in the Commonwealth and helps to combat food insecurity.
Sizemore says the issue of food insecurity is a silent one, but still prevalent- in Lyon County alone, one in seven people and one in six children are food insecure.
