At Tuesday’s meeting, Caldwell County Fiscal Court approved a resolution to apply for a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for an expansion project at the George Coon Public Library in Princeton.
Library Director Nichelle Faughn attended the meeting and explained to magistrates that the building is “not conducive to want they want.” She added they are wanting to expand in order to provide more space for the public to use for meetings.

click to download audioJudge-Executive Kota Young said the library is “an incredible asset for our community” and the amount of programming they offer is “astounding.” He also noted the application deadline for the $750,000 grant is September 21st.
