Cheerleaders from Caldwell County High School held a mini cheer clinic on Saturday at the CAB.
There were 58 future cheerleaders gathered to learn cheers and moves in the Barbie-themed event.
Senior Cheerleader Avery Thompson shared what the young cheerleaders learned during the two-and-a-half-hour session.
Alyssa Wickham brought her daughter to the clinic and for their family, this was a first-time experience in cheerleading.
A large number of students are participating in the high school cheerleading program this year with Thompson adding that the teams have their own competition and are looking forward to competing.
She invites everyone to come and watch them during the football games.
Thompson said she had enjoyed the years spent in cheerleading and it’s a great experience. She began her career at the same age as some of the youngest students in the cheer clinic and now as a senior is looking forward to finishing the year doing something she loves.
Each participant in the clinic received a t-shirt and an invitation to cheer on the sideline of the home football game this Friday night. They are planning another mini-clinic during the upcoming basketball season.
