The annual Black Patch Petting Zoo and Pedal Tractor Pull will be held again this Saturday on the grounds at Princeton City Hall.
The zoo will begin at 10:00 AM and last until 3:00 PM with a rabbit auction to be held afterward. The petting zoo has been presented for the past several years by James Alan Boone and Caldwell County Farm Bureau.
Farm Bureau’s Leslie Peek shared they are proud to continue that tradition this year.
Peek added they always have a huge turnout of children each year and many have never been around animals like this before.
She stressed that James Alan treats his animals very good.
Peek said they will have hand sanitizer available after you pet the animals.
The FFA Petal Tractor Pull will also be held in conjunction with the petting zoo again this year. It will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the city hall parking lot.
FFA Advisor Magen Woods said members will be conducting the tractor pull and also assisting with the petting zoo.
Woods invites children of all ages to participate in the petal tractor pull. There is no charge but they do accept donations that will go directly to the local FFA chapter.
These are more free activities for children at Black Patch, but donations can be made. James Alan takes any donations for the petting zoo and divides them between the Caldwell County FFA and 4-H. When he presents those donations the Princeton Optimist Club will match up to $1,000 for the two groups.
