Caldwell County Animal Shelter Prepares For Winter, Offering Adoption Special

The Caldwell County Animal Shelter is gearing up for the winter months.
Director Jess Smith told Your WPKY News Edge recently they are in need of tarps and straw, as we head toward winter.

The shelter is always looking for families to adopt dogs, but there is a small cost to do so.

Smith added the shelter is running a special with reduced options for adoption.

At times this year, the shelter has been over-capacity, and while they are offering a reduced adoption fee for some dogs, all the safety precautions are still taken.

Smith said families interested in adopting, but already have other dogs at home, can bring them by for a controlled meet and greet.

Microchips are available for new adoptions and your family pets.

The shelter is located at 489 Baker Hill Road in Princeton and is open Monday and Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and those same hours Thursday through Saturday.
