Road Closure

Explosive Demolition of Old U.S. 60 Cumberland River “Smithland” Bridge scheduled Thursday, Nov. 2nd. Crews plan to take down the truss and approach simultaneously. During Demo, the new bridge to be closed from 9-11:30am the day of the blast, with commercial and pleasure boat traffic halted approximately 24 hours on the Cumberland River. During Demo, there will be a 1,500 ft. clear zone, around the blast site, that will be strictly enforced.
