Police Urging Eddyville Residents to Lock Up After Recent Burglaries

Police are urging Eddyville residents to secure their vehicles following a series of burglaries in the area.
In a Facebook post, the Eddyville Police Department provided an update on the ongoing investigation into the vehicle burglaries. While the suspects are not believed to be from Lyon County, officials are urging residents to remain vigilant. The police department advises everyone to lock their doors, secure their vehicles, and refrain from storing valuable items inside their vehicles.
The Eddyville Police Department is urging anyone with information, particularly security camera footage, to come forward and contact them. Furthermore, they are requesting that individuals who have had their vehicles broken into, even if nothing was stolen, to report the incidents to the police department.
On Wednesday, Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reported that his office, in collaboration with the Eddyville Police Department, is currently investigating numerous reports of prowler complaints and vehicle burglaries. These incidents took place around 2:45 Tuesday morning in the Eddyville area, as well as outside the city limits north of Eddyville. Sheriff White noted that vehicles parked in driveways were targeted, resulting in the theft of guns, cash, and various other items. Additionally, a residential garage burglary was also reported.
According to Eddyville Police Chief Jordan Parrish and Sheriff White, almost all of the burglarized vehicles were left unlocked and unattended in residential driveways when the crimes occurred between 12:45 to 3:45 Tuesday morning.
Authorities are urging individuals who possess video footage from their home or business surveillance systems, as well as any other relevant information, to reach out to either 270-388-2311 or 270-388-2287.
