Student Charged with Alcohol and Marijuana Possession on School Premises

A juvenile from Lyon County was charged last week after he was reportedly found in possession of alcoholic beverages and marijuana while on school premises.
According to Sheriff Brent White, around 9:00 on the morning of October 12, a high school administrator at Lyon County High School observed a student carrying a suspicious item. The School Resource Officer was notified, leading to an investigation that revealed the juvenile student was allegedly in possession of 18 alcoholic beverage bottles of whiskey and several suspected marijuana vaping items.
Sheriff White reported that the 14-year-old juvenile was charged with the illegal sale or distribution of alcohol in a dry area and possession of marijuana. The student was removed from school and released to a guardian as per the Court Designated Worker.
