Nancy Carol Baker died at her home in Fredonia Kentucky with her family by her side on October 26, 2023. She was born to the late Wade Hampton and Nanny Sue Crowder on July 2, 1931, in Mayfield, KY.
She is survived by son, Bryant Allen Baker (Elizabeth), daughter, Gary Beth Baker (Nicky) and son, Joseph Carr Baker (Lisa) and daughter-in-law Laura Baker. Grandchildren, Mary Beth Baker, Allen Watts Baker (Sahar), Maurine Elizabeth Allen (Erick), CC Baker(Crystal), Gregory Hampton Baker (Heather), Nan Claire Watson (Chris), Andrea Carol Adler (Mike), Emma SueAlice Wiley (Travis), and Olivia Marcum, Sister Betty Nutter. She has 22 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Carr Baker, son, James Wade Baker, Sister, Zorabeth Jaggers and brother Wade Allen Crowder.
She attended Bethel College in Hopkinsville, KY and was a graduate of Murray State University with a BS and MS in Elementary Education. She was a teacher in the Caldwell County school system for over 20 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, KY and taught the children’s Sunday School for many years..
Nancy was devoted to her family, friends, and the children of Caldwell County. Her legacy of caring goes on and on. She was an avid reader of all genres, followed current events closely, and discussed both with intelligence and give and take. She loved to entertain and made her guests feel welcome with her delicious food, a lovely home and her own loving brand of hospitality. She shared her love of the beach and ocean with family and friends by including them in
her yearly month-long vacations to Panama City Beach, Florida… She cherished those times and kept the cherished beach memories close to her heart, as do her family and friends. Nancy was an exceptional memory maker and a blessing to so many.
Visitation for Mrs. Baker will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 29 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Princeton Chapel, burial will follow in Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.
