Thurman Blaine King, age 85, of Marion, KY, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a member and deacon of Eddyville Assembly of God, a surveyor, a pastor and a U.S. Army veteran. Thurman enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, serving on missions in Kenya and Ivory Coast, and giving tours at the Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum for the past twelve years.
Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Darla King, Marion, KY; three daughters, Pamela Thomas, Hendersonville, NC; Betty Yow, Rome, GA; Jill Thomas, NC; one son, Bo King, Jacksonville, FL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo Roosevelt King and Junia Irene Simon King; two sons, James Lee Norris and Jason Ira Norris; three sisters, Ruby Martin, Garnet Olsen and Georgia Jeffries; two brothers, William Preston King and Theran D. King.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Lakeland Funeral Home of Eddyville, KY is in charge of arrangements.
