A student has been charged after he allegedly injured a staff member during an assault at Lyon County High School last week.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports School Resource Officers were called to an assault complaint inside the high school involving a student and staff member around 10:15 on the morning of October 26.
According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation revealed a male juvenile student was being moved from one classroom to the next when he shoved, kicked, and punched a female school staff member. It’s reported that the assault resulted in multiple injuries to the school staff member requiring medical attention.
Law enforcement says the juvenile student was removed from the school and charged with third-degree assault.
