The event is to raise funds that will be utilized to support their Christmas giving initiatives this year.
According to Jacki Greenfield, the founder and co-president of Operation Giving Trees, they strive to organize various fundraisers each month to support their cause. This time, she came up with the idea for local residents and businesses to light up Caldwell County with Christmas decorations and lights.
Greenfield announced that the contest is open to all residents and business owners in Caldwell County who wish to show their festive spirit. To enter the contest, interested individuals and businesses must fill out an entry form and pay a $25 entry fee by 5:00 Friday afternoon, December 8th.

Interested participants can find a link to the entry form on the Operation Giving Trees Facebook page. Another option is individuals can send a private message to the organization’s social media page, and she will gladly email an entry form, if this is more convenient.
