Fredonia Valley Christmas Parade Deemed a Success (w/PHOTOS)

Even though the weather was chilly and gloomy, it didn’t dampen the spirits of those who came out to  “Light Up Fredonia” for the Fredonia Valley Christmas Parade held Friday evening.
Akrdige Farm Supply in Fredonia was chosen as this year’s grand marshal for the parade. William Butts from Akridge expressed his gratitude for being chosen, stating that it was a great honor to lead the procession.

According to parade organizer and member of the Fredonia Valley Activities Committee Michelle Travis, Fredonia began having a Christmas Parade a few years ago.

click to download audioJacy Travis, Michelle’s daughter, mentioned that despite the challenging weather conditions, the parade had a good turnout.

click to download audioShe further emphasized that the parade serves as a way to show their gratitude towards the tight-knit community.

click to download audioAfter the parade, the community was welcomed to Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church where they could enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. Additionally, the children had the opportunity to meet and interact with Santa Claus.
