Shirley Cornish of Princeton, Kentucky, passed away on December 16th, 2023 at Mercy Health’s Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah.
Shirley was born on October 13, 1936, to Clifton “Spud” McConnell and Bonnie McConnell in Providence, KY. After many fulfilling years, she retired from operating her own antique store, a place that reflected her charm and eye for beauty. Shirley was a member of Creswell Baptist Church and was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Robbie (Heather) Cornish and Chris (Angie) Cornish, both of Princeton; one daughter, Debbie (Mike) Courtright of Marion; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Carl Cornish.
Her family and friends will miss her laugh, her quick wit, and her one-of-a-kind homemade fudge and coconut pies.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. with the service time at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
