At Monday night’s meeting, Princeton City Council heard updates about the fall leaf collection and the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport.
Councilman Jim Joiner, who serves on the Princeton-Caldwell County Airport Board, shared with council members that the Kentucky Department of Aviation has committed to financially support the construction of the 10-unit hangars at the local airport. He mentioned that the initial steps would involve conducting an engineering study and designing the hangars.
click to download audioFurthermore, he said that they had an estimate that the airport had been utilized by 1,350 aircraft over the past six months.
According to Joiner, there was also a discussion regarding the necessity of installing additional cameras at the airport to monitor wildlife movement, support county planes, and detect any other activities. He further mentioned that this plan is likely to occur soon.
During the meeting, Phillip Franklin, the assistant director of Public Works, provided council members with positive updates regarding the leaf collection. He reported that the collection process was successful and proceeded smoothly without any issues.
