Caldwell School Board Approves Bids For Bus Charger Infrastructure, Security Vestibules

During Monday night’s meeting, Caldwell County school board members gave their approval to the bids submitted for the bus charger infrastructure and security vestibules.

Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach highlighted that these bids were below the allocated budget.

Roach’s recommendation to accept the lowest bid for the security vestibules from a local lumber company, totaling $610,000, was unanimously approved by the board.

The board also unanimously approved the lowest bid received from Jays Electric for the EV bus charger infrastructure.

Roach clarified that the funds for the bus charger infrastructure will be sourced from the Building Fund, while the chargers and buses were covered by a grant.

In other action, the board approved a band stipend proposal.

Caldwell County High School Band Director Mason Henry explained the stipend request is for two positions.

In other new business, the board approved the comprehensive improvement plans for all schools and the district, a revised BG1 for the security vestibules, and an emergency certification for a Certified Social Studies Teacher at the middle school due to the absence of fully certified applicants.
