A young local woman who is no stranger to competing in pageants will join eleven other contestants from across the nation to participate in the 2024 Miss Rodeo USA Pageant in Oklahoma this month.
According to pageant officials, 22-year old Jacy Dawn Travis, of Fredonia, is currently Miss West Point Rodeo. She is the daughter of Jay and Michelle Travis. Jacy’s rodeo history lies in the National High School Rodeo, national Little Britches Rodeo, and local associations where she competed and currently competes in barrel racing, pole bending, and breakaway.
In 2018, Jacy was elected Kentucky High School Rodeo Queen and represented the commonwealth at the National High School finals in Wyoming. Working at a local farm supply store, pageant officials said cemented Jacy’s career choice of being involved in the agricultural field and seed and chemical supply sales. She is also an active member of the Caldwell County FFA club and still holds alumni status.
Furthermore, Jacy’s ultimate goal is to graduate from Murray State University in the spring of 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness and work for a national company in agricultural sales.
The 2024 Miss Rodeo USA events will commence on January 8th and continue through January 14th when the winner of the pageant will be crowned during the International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma.
