City-County Park Board Plans to Reopen Pool, Renovate Park, and Enhance Facilities

The City-County Park Board is currently making plans to reopen the swimming pool for the upcoming season, along with implementing various renovations at the park and some future additions to enhance the park’s facilities.

City-County Park Board Chair and Princeton Mayor Brock Thomas has revealed that following the repair of the swimming pool last year, their attention this year will now shift towards the ball fields. He said that the board will soon begin accepting bids for the renovation of the ball fields.

click to download audioApart from the swimming pool and ball fields, Thomas highlighted that the City-County Park at one time also provided amenities such as basketball courts, mini-golf, and volleyball. He further noted that there has been a renewed interest in volleyball and pickleball at the park.

click to download audioAccording to Thomas, they have also applied for a grant for a building at the soccer fields that would also serve as a storm shelter.

click to download audioThomas mentioned that after completing the pickleball court project, the board has been discussing the idea of constructing a pavilion between the softball fields that would expand the options for hosting birthday parties and family gatherings. However, the realization of this plan would depend on securing funding through another grant cycle.
