Marjorie Southworth Hackney, age 97, of Grand Rivers, KY passed away at her home on Monday, January 22, 2024. She was of the Baptist faith, played bass guitar and loved playing country music with the family band and listening to country music.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Betty Collier, Grand Rivers, KY; one brother, James “Buddy” Collier, Central City, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie James Collier and Ruth Frances Snyder Collier, her second husband, Virgil Hackney, her first husband, Richard Southworth, two brothers, Robert Collier and Arthur Collier, and five sisters, Anna Kathryn Rose, Nellie Lee Hutcherson, Jessie Mae White, Betty Jean Nall and Mona Faye Yde.
Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2024, at Lakeland Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday with burial to follow in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers, KY.
