Traffic had to be rerouted in southern Crittenden County Thursday morning after a chicken manure spill on KY 70.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reported around 8 am that the spill occurred near the 2-mile marker between Dycusburg and Frances near Main Lake Road.

According to Todd, the chicken manure spill made the road slick and hazardous forcing it to close. The KYTC Crittenden County Highway Maintenance Crew was called to the scene to clean the road, which reopened to traffic around 10:00.
