Ronald Hunter, 63, of Bowling Green

Ronald Bishop Hunter, age 63, of Bowling Green, KY, and formally of Princeton, KY passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at The Medical Center at Franklin, KY.

Ronald was born on March 7, 1960, in Princeton, KY to the late Edward Hunter and Lena Bishop Grooms. Ronald was a Caldwell County Football standout and graduated with the class of 1978. After graduation he would continue to play for the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers. Ronald stayed in Bowling Green where he would continue to touch the lives of all who come in contact with him. “Coach Ron” shared his knowledge of football to the next generation as the assistant coach at Warren Central High School. He was a well-known bouncer in Bowling Green most recently at “Brew Co” where he was a staple and fondly known as “Big Ron”. Ronald loved lifting weights and continued to visit and work at the gyms “Total Connections” and “Warren County Parks and REC” as long as he physically could. He was a member of Shepherd Street Baptist Church in Princeton. Ronald was a big man with a bigger heart and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know him.

Survivors include his sister, Kammie Hunter-Diggs and husband, Lynn, of Sacramento, CA; step-brother, Wade Eison of Princeton; close family friend, Teresa Copeland of Princeton; several beloved cousins.

In addition to his biological parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his step-father, Ralph Grooms; brother, Donald Hunter.

Visitation for Ronald Hunter will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Morgan’s Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev Carl Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
