A Princeton teenager was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business Wednesday afternoon.
Princeton Police officers responded to the Tractor Supply parking lot shortly after 4:15 where an investigation reportedly revealed that 13-year old Izabell Sanders was walking from the store entrance and was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a Jeep Cherokee.
According to Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison, witnesses told officers that the driver of the Jeep left the scene before officers arrived. He says Sanders was transported to the Caldwell County hospital for apparent injuries.
Officers located the Jeep in the Dollar Tree parking lot and issued a citation to the driver, 80-year old Sherry Nix, of Princeton, for leaving the scene of an accident.
