A Kuttawa man who is registered on the state’s sex offender registry was arrested at a high school game in Lyon County Monday night, January 29.
Sheriff Brent White says he was at the Lyon County High School basketball game when he saw 45-year old Billy Townsend, Jr., who he knew was a lifetime registrant on the Sex Offender Registry, walk in and sit down in the stands. After Sheriff White verified that Townsend did not have advanced written permission to be on school property, he was taken into custody.
Townsend was charged with one count of registered sex offender school restrictions offenses. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
