A Marion woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a single-vehicle wreck in Caldwell County over the weekend.
According to Sheriff Don Weedman, deputies were dispatched to the accident in the 400 block of Old Wilson Warehouse Road around 2:00 Saturday morning. He says an investigation revealed that a car driven by 29-year old Whitney Cotton left the road and traveled into a yard where it came to a stop in the mud. Cotton reportedly had left the scene before the arrival of law enforcement but was located in a nearby trailer.
Cotton was taken into custody and charged with DUI 3rd offense. She was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
The investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
