Caldwell FFA Chapter Advisor Highlights Importance of National FFA Week

The Caldwell County FFA Alumni met on Monday, February 12, after the local FFA speaking contest in the Agriculture classroom.

FFA Chapter Advisor Magen Woods announced they still have a limited supply of sausage that the chapter had processed and is using as a fundraiser for the Alumni. They have both 1 pound 2 pound packages available by contacting the high school agriculture department. Woods updated the alumni on current and upcoming projects and focused on the upcoming National FFA Week for the local chapter. She explained the purpose of the annual recognition for the FFA organization.

click to download audioWoods shared the local chapter recognizes members during the week for their accomplishments. Local FFA Chapters award two levels of degrees to members and they will both be awarded at the Degree Ceremony as well as presenting local officers and committee chairman with their office pins. She shared what is required to receive the Greenhand Degree.

click to download audioWoods noted that FFA members have chosen a theme for each day of the week and encourage everyone to dress up accordingly each day.

click to download audioNational FFA Week will be observed nationwide from February 17th through 24 this year. The local chapter invited everyone to attend their Degree Ceremony to be held on Tuesday, February 20th, at 6:00 pm in the Fine Arts Building at the high school.
