Princeton Mayor Brock Thomas and Public Works Director David Sullenger on Wednesday addressed the concerns raised by citizens following the announcement on Monday night that city residents would need to drop off their trash instead of having it picked up by the city this spring.

click to download audioHe mentioned that the city provides a valuable service for residents to utilize, acknowledging that it comes at a cost. Sullenger also highlighted that the drop-off system would enable better regulation. Mayor Thomas added that this year’s option still offers a valuable service to the community.
Thomas said he has also received some positive feedback about the change from a pick-up to a drop-off.

click to download audioWith the temporary closure of the Recycling Center, Mayor Thomas also mentioned that Judge-Executive Kota Young is continuing to work, along with other counties, to resolve the recycling problem that occurred last month when West Kentucky Correctional Complex announced it was terminating its recycling program.
