Caldwell County FFA Excels at Pennyrile Regional FFA Speaking Day

The Caldwell County FFA Chapter competed in the Pennyrile Regional FFA Speaking Day at Murray State University on Friday, March 1st.

Local students who had won first place in their chapter contest competed with students from across the Pennyrile Region who had received first place in their chapter. There were various contests involving preparing and presenting speeches, demonstrating parliamentary procedure, taking written exams and answering questions. Students were rated by a group of judges from across the region and given ratings of Superior or Excellent. Caldwell County received Superior First Place in several categories. Evan Cotton won first place in swine.

click to download audioAdvisor Magen Woods was pleased with the students and their accomplishments for the day. She noted the first and second-place winners will advance to the State Contest and they will be preparing for the next step of competition.
