Princeton Fire Chief Reminds Community to Use Caution When Burning

Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis wants to remind the community to use caution when burning outside as we are in grass fire season.

During the Princeton City Council meeting Monday night, he asks that residents use extra caution when burning or hold off burning until next month.

click to download audioKentucky’s Spring Wildfire Hazard Season, state law prohibits burning between 6 am and 6 pm or within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland, as mentioned by Chief Francis. March and April are known for high wildfire occurrence.

Public efforts, such as being cautious with debris fires and campfires, and reporting suspicious activity, can greatly reduce the occurrence of wildfires.
