Lyon County Waste Tire Collection March 14-16

Lyon County, in cooperation with the state  Division of Waste Management, will sponsor a waste tire collection program this week to allow Kentucky residents a chance to dispose of waste tires at no charge.

According to Lyon County officials, tires will be accepted March 14-16 at the Kentucky Department of Highways Garage on Highway 373 in Eddyville. The hours of collection on Thursday and Friday will be from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m..

Tires that will be accepted include:

– Tires off or on rim

– Farm Implement

– Bicycle, Motorcycle, Go-Cart, ATV

– Tractor

– Truck and Passenger

Tires that will not be accepted include:

– Foam Filled

– Calcium Filled

– Solid

– Off Road Construction, OTR

– Rubber Track, Sheet Rubber

– Any tire with a bead greater than 1 3/4 inches

Eligible participants do not include tire retailers, scrap dealers or salvage yards.

Waste tires will be collected at the Kentucky Department of Highways Garage, located at 381 Highway 373, in Eddyville.
