Shirley Jean Tubbs, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, in Kuttawa, KY, at the age of 88.
Born on August 8, 1935, in Caldwell County, KY, Shirley’s life was a testament to her enduring love for her family and her unwavering faith.
Shirley had a lively nature, at the assisted living center where she resided, she was affectionately known for her passion for dancing and innate ability to uplift everyone’s spirits. The title “Crazy Grandma Shirley” bestowed upon her by her grandchildren spoke volumes of the fun-loving and quirky grandmother they adored. She was often seen wearing her favorite color, blue. Shirley had a love for the simple pleasures of life, like indulging in her favorite chicken nuggets at McDonald’s. Known for her spirited personality, Shirley also found solace in her membership at Lebanon Baptist Church. She took pride in her role as a homemaker, nurturing and loving her family and all who were fortunate to cross her path.
Shirley’s legacy is carried on by her beloved son, Keith (Pam) Williams of Princeton; four step-daughters, Deborah Jean (Russell) Johnson of Hopkinsville, Cynthia (William) Robertson of Herndon, Kimberly Joyce Keeling of Hopkinsville, and Carla Rene (Bill) Tribbitt of Bowling Green; two step-sons, Stephen Ray (Rhonda) Tubbs of Madisonville, Robert Louis (Kathy) Tubbs of Hopkinsville; her sister, Sandra Travis of Princeton; her cherished grandchildren, Chris (Marti) McCarty, Jake (Melissa) McCarty, Summer (Jeff) Ameloot, and Morgan (Clay) Carman; and her adored great-grandchildren, Ethan McCarty, McKenzie McCarty, Chelsea McCarty, Ford Ameloot, Colt Carman and Casey Carman, expected soon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Connie Leo and Fannie Greames Davis; her son, Mike Wayne McCarty; her siblings, Connie Burgess, Linda Kay Davis, Sue Cummins, Doris LeFan and Jewell Davis.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Davis and Bro. Mike Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Princeton Memorial Gardens.
