Mary Ida (Thomas) Sigler of Eddyville, passed away peacefully at Clarehouse Hospice in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 85.
Mary was retired from Henderson County School Board as a Cafeteria Manager at East Heights Elementary School. She attended Fairview United Methodist Church in Eddyville, KY. She enjoyed Bible study with her friends, playing cards, camping, sitting on her porch with friends drinking coffee, enjoyed volunteering for Celebrate Recovery and cooking for her friends and family (especially her fried chicken). Mary never met a stranger.
Mary was preceded In death by her husband of 61 years, Douglas Leon Sigler, and parents, John Wesley Thomas and Essie Knoblin Thomas, father-in-law, Francis Jett Sigler and Mary Elen Pruitt Sigler, step mother-in-law, France Sigler, brothers, Carl R.Thomas (Ruth) and John H. Thomas (Helen), sister Elizabeth Thomas Smith (William), son-in-law Roger Whitman Watson, bothers-in-law Richard Sigler (Jennie) and Maurice Sigler, sisters-in-law, Frances Hazelwood (Lafe) and Martha Kasey (Carnie/Arthur) Pam Sigler, nephew, Charles Edward Hazelwood (Jean), nieces Lisa Sigler Lambert and Marteen Sigler Hintt, and cousin John Wesley Thomas.
Mary is survived by her two daughter’s Mary Elen Raley-Bradley and husband Ronald Owen Bradley of Tulsa, OK and Deborah Ann (Sigler) Watson of Henderson, KY. Grandchildren are Eric Mitchell Stone of Eddyville, KY, Kassandra Elen Gish and Chris Gish of Robards, KY, Reid Douglas Bradley and Amy Lloyd of Rogers, AR and Jordan Travis of Tahlequah, OK. Step-grandchild Jennifer D. Bowne and Nate Bowne of Clearwater, FL. Great grandchildren Jade R. Porter and Fran Colon of Clearwater, FL, Christian Layne Hill and Adyson Schafer of Tell City, IN, Christopher Alexander (Alex) Stevenson of Robards, KY, Kylie Summer-Ann Stevenson of Robards, KY, Ryan Jacob Rainbolt of, OK and Brooks Owen Bradley of Tahlequah, OK. Great-great-granddaughter’s Remi Leigh Hill of Tell City, IN and Magnolia Mae Colon of Clearwater, FL. Brother-in-Law, Carl Sigler of Manitou, KY, sisters-in-law Amy Sigler of Elburn, IL, Nancy Patterson and Devery of Slaughters,KY, Betty Gibbons and Anthony of Henderson, KY many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Clarehouse Hospice in Tulsa, OK for the compassion and kindness they showed. Their professional services provided during Mary’s time in Tulsa, OK hospice was impeccable.
A funeral service will be held in Eddyville, KY at a future date. She will be buried in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY. The burial will also include her husband Douglas L. Sigler. Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville is in charge of arrangements.
