Weather forecasters are monitoring the possibility of severe weather Wednesday across western Kentucky.
Derrick Snyder, Lead Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Paducah, says the first threat for severe weather will come late Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Snyder adds while confidence is lower for the severe threat Wednesday, the Storm Prediction Center has western Kentucky in the ‘slight risk’ category for severe storms.
Highs through Wednesday will climb above 80, with Thursday and Friday’s highs only dropping a couple of degrees. As we get into the weekend, highs will be in the mid-60s, with frost possible in the overnight hours.
A half-inch, up to an inch of rainfall is expected this week. Areas closer to Evansville, Indiana could see higher amounts.
