A Marion man and an Illinois woman are facing numerous charges after the pair were arrested in a stolen vehicle in Lyon County Friday morning, along with being suspected in a string of burglaries in Crittenden County.

Sheriff Brent White reported that around 7:00 Friday morning he saw a pickup truck driving carelessly on US 641. He says when he pulled up behind the truck, the driver, later identified as 33-year old Jacob Walker, abruptly turned off the road at a closed business.

White stated that after conducting a more thorough investigation, Walker was detained along with his passenger, 35-year old Mika Kitrel of Metropolis, Illinois, who was later identified after she provided the name of another person of whom she had stolen their identity.

According to Sheriff White, the investigation revealed the truck the duo was in had been stolen overnight from the Marion-Crittenden County Airport. He said it was later discovered the pair was linked to six more burglaries of various buildings in Crittenden County where over $50,000 worth in property was reported stolen.

Sheriff White says Walker and Kitrel are both charged in Lyon County with criminal trespassing and receiving stolen property over $10,000, an auto. In addition, Walker was charged with possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. He also faces burglary and theft charges in Crittenden County, which is being investigated by the sheriff’s office there. Kitrel was also charged with possession of marijuana and meth, possession of another controlled substance, and theft of identity.

Both Kitrel and Walker were lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. Sheriff White says the Marion Police Department assisted both agencies and also charged Kitrel with five Kentucky arrest warrants and one Illinois arrest warrant.
