2nd Annual Community Arts Night

This year, the 2nd Annual Community Arts Night is set for Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Lee S. Jones Convention Center, Eddyville, KY.

The event, organized by Kiersten Piercy, currently a student at Murray State University and a graduate of Lyon County High School, started the celebration in 2023, as a class project.  The event, an opportunity for local students with talent in the arts from creative writing, dance, theater, and vocal performance to the visual arts, to showcase their talents to community members and to celebrate creativity in our community.  This year, the program continues with a wider variety and added opportunities for artisans to sell their works to the public.  Artists who are interested in displaying or performing at the event must contact Kiersten Piercy at 270-625-9705 to reserve their table or schedule performance time.

The mission of the Community Arts Night is to support and advance the arts and cultural opportunities for the students of Lyon County.  The money raised from the event will go towards a scholarship fund for young artists who wish to pursue their careers in the arts after high school.  Any student that wishes to major or minor in one of the arts (Creative Writing, Dance, Design, Drama, Fashion, Film and Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theater, Visual Art, Vocal Music, or another area that can be proven a valid artform, are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Admission to the event is $5 per person.  The dress is semi-formal, and all are encouraged to dress their best on an evening of celebrating the creativity in the Lyon County community.
