Princeton Rotary Homeschool Interact Club Students Showcase Future Career Goals (w/PHOTOS)

They may be young, but a group of local students is already thinking about their future and how they can positively impact our community.

The Princeton Rotary Homeschool Interact Club held a Community Helpers Showcase on Friday. Interact Club sponsor, Steffani Burton described the idea behind the Community Helpers Showcase event and what it involved.

click to download audioAccording to Burton, the Interact Club grew to 20 students this year, with more than a dozen participating in Friday’s showcase.

Hatton Mercer is the 7-year old son of Jessie and Adam Mercer. He aspires to become an engineer in the future, to construct new things for the community to enjoy. He also mentioned his favorite activities.

click to download audio9-year old Adalynn Lamb and her sisters, 7-year old Alyssa and 4-year old Aubrey, are the daughters of Shelly and Jamie Lamb. Adalynn wants to become a reptile veterinarian.

click to download audioOaklea Riter is 7-years old and the daughter of Roslyn and Jordan Riter. She wants to be a police officer and explained how she could help the community.

click to download audio9-year old Lucas Crick is the son of Abby and Houston Crick. He has his sights set on becoming a chef and opening his own restaurant.

click to download audioSiblings, 5-year old Paige, 7-year Holt and 8-year old Porter are the children of Kate and Justin Adams. Paige also wants to be a veterinarian, while Holt wants to play professional football and be a farmer and Porter wants to be a professional baseball player and pianist.

click to download audio15-year old Isabella “Boo” Burton is the daughter of Steffani and Chris Burton. Those familiar with “Boo” know that she’s passionate about pursuing a career in politics. “Boo” shared the steps she’s taking to achieve that goal to make a positive impact on the community.

click to download audioThe Community Helpers Showcase was held at Central Presbyterian Church in downtown Princeton from 2:00 to 4:00 Friday afternoon. During this time, several Princeton Rotarians and residents stopped in to see the poster boards and interact with the kids who are the future of this community.
