The Kuttawa Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded funding from the Marathon Foundation.
According to fire officials, the volunteer fire department was awarded $5,000 through the Marathon Foundation’s First Responders Grant Program. Officials indicate this funding was utilized to purchase two Holmatro T1 hydraulic forcible entry tools.
The ceremonial check was presented to Chief Bill Compton from Marathon Kuttawa Terminal employees Timmy Melton and Justin Budd.
Officials with the Kuttawa Volunteer Fire Department expressed their appreciation for the many years of support, both physical and financial from Marathon.
Earlier this month, the Kuttawa Volunteer Fire Department was awarded a $2 million grant from the state to support the renovation and enhancement of the Kuttawa Fire Station.
