Officials with the United Way of the Pennyrile announced Tuesday afternoon that its Board of Directors has approved more than $502,000 in funding for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

This will support more than 40 health and human service programs within 18 local nonprofit agencies for Caldwell, Christian, Todd and Trigg counties — many of which work together to provide a vital safety net of services to help those in need.

This is an 11% increase from Fiscal Year 2023-24, accounting for more than $48,000, and each agency received a funding increase.

Grant payments will begin this July and end in June 2025.

This commitment to the community will impact key areas of people’s lives: health, education, financial stability and basic needs.

Leading the program review and fund distribution is the Community Investment Committee (CIC), which is comprised of trained and knowledgeable volunteers who live or work in this area. Each contributes their time to carefully evaluate program performance while analyzing program results, in order to confirm the United Way donations are providing an impact.
